Prerequisite: The prerequisite for Advanced Indonesian Level 1A is normally Intermediate Indonesian B.
Contact: Four hours per week, and one hour self-study in the language laboratory per week.
Timetable: First semester
Objectives:
On completion of the subject students will:
- be able to discuss, read and write with confidence about a wide variety of topics;
- have read in Indonesian a variety of short literary texts and articles about current events in Indonesia.
Content:
An advanced subject in which students are expected to hold discussions in Indonesian on selected literary and dramatic works. Based on discussions, written work includes argumentative writing in which students develop and present their point of view.
Assessment:
Written assignments totalling 4,000 words, plus one 2-hour written examination.
