Four hours a week.

Objectives:

Students on completion of the subject should have acquired a sufficient grasp of modern Hebrew grammar, vocabulary and syntax to be able to read simpler modern texts. An ability to conduct basic conversation and write short assignments should also have been acquired.

Content:

Further study of the basic grammar of modern Hebrew; reading selected texts.

Assessment:

1st, 2nd and 3rd year:
Regular exercises and class tests (50 per cent) and a 2-hour examination (50 per cent).
4th year:
Written work, tests and examinations totalling no more than 6,000 words or equivalent.
