Contact: A one-hour lecture and a one-and-a-half-hour seminar a week.

Objectives:
At the conclusion of the subject the students will have:
- further consolidated their knowledge of the Swedish language at an advanced level;
- deepened their understanding of the society, history, culture and literature of Sweden, principally through the medium of the Swedish language;
- examined certain periods of Swedish society from the Viking Era to modern times through the medium of the Swedish language.
Content:
Swedish society from the Viking period to 1800, with an emphasis on cultural developments.
Assessment:
Written work of not more than 5,000 words.
