Objectives:
At the conclusion of the subject the students should:
- have further developed their competence in the Swedish language in interpersonal, informational and aesthetic domains;
- be further experienced in the use of a variety of registers of Swedish within a contextual and historical setting;
- be acquainted with the development of the Swedish language from rune-stone to modern Swedish.
Content:
Advanced Swedish language with emphasis on stylistics, the history of the Swedish language, a detailed stylistic analysis of some major Swedish works and Swedish prose and poetry of the 20th century.
Assessment:
Written work and language tests of not more than 5,000 words.
