Major themes, playwrights and poets of the 19th and 20th centuries. Special attention will be given to one major work by each of Gogol, Chekhov, Mayakovsky and Petrushevskaya.

Assessment:

By essay and class paper totalling up to 5,000 words (3rd year), 6,000 words (4th year).
