By the end of the subject students should be able to:
- Understand the principles and problems of translation;
- Translate from Russian into English complex non-technical texts;
- Translate from English into Russian texts of medium difficulty.
Content:
Linguistic and literary theory of translation; practical translation from Russian at an advanced level.
Assessment:
By assignments totalling up to 5,000 words.
