Objectives:
Students who complete this subject should be able to:
- understand and evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the major concepts and theories in their chosen area of specialisation;
- organise, analyse and present research data clearly and effectively
- understand and apply appropriate research methods in their chosen area of specialisation.
Content:
A course of lectures and/or seminars, directed reading and directed research on current topics in social and cultural geography. Depending on the availability of staff and the interests of students, several streams of advanced study will be offered, of which students must participate in one.
Assessment:
Written work equivalent to 6,000 words.
