116-241/341 Italian Reading Course for Beginners

Credit points: 16.7 2nd and 3rd year.

Coordinator: Dr J Hajek.

Prerequisite: None. This subject is only available to beginners.

Contact: Three hours of language classes, and a specialised reading class (one hour).

Timetable: First semester

Objectives:

At the end of the subject, students should be able to read and translate into English texts relating to their field(s) of study (e. g. art, history, science).

Content:

The study of basic Italian grammar, vocabulary and textual material relating to students' specific field(s) of study.

Assessment:

Take-home assignments; written tests totalling not more than three hours.
