Objectives:
At the end of the subject, students should be able to read and translate into English texts of reasonable complexity relating to their field of study (e. g. art, history, science).
Content:
Study of basic French grammar and vocabulary; work on a variety of written or computer-enhanced materials, some general, some relating to students' specific field of study.
Assessment:
Take home assignments (in total not more than 2,000 words (40 per cent); written tests not totalling more than 3 hours (60 per cent).
