Objectives:
Students completing this subject should, in addition to the above:
- have a sound knowledge and understanding of different aspects of artistic production in Northern Europe during the sixteenth century.
Content:
Northern Europe and the Italian Renaissance; the Reformation and Art; the Habsburg patronage; and the art of Bosch, Breughel and Dü rer.
Assessment:
Written work which may comprise class papers, essays, visual tests or take-home examinations totalling about 6,000 words.
