Objectives:
Students completing this subject should, in addition to the above:
- have an understanding of the main techniques used in printmaking;
- gained a knowledge of the work of key printmakers from the Renaissance to the early 20th Century;
- be familiar with the specialised scholarly literature associated with prints.
Content:
A study of the origins and historical development of the print from the 15th century onwards.
Assessment:
Written work which may comprise class papers, essays, visual tests or take-home examinations totalling about 6,000 words.
