Prerequisite: Two art history subjects at second or third-year level.

Objectives:
In addition to the above, students completing this subject should:
- have developed skills in research with primary source materials of the period;
- have a knowledge of the critical and contemporary literature on 19th Century English Art;
- have a knowledge of the painting techniques and materials of the period.
Content:
A seminar program focusing on particular aspects of the painting, sculpture, architecture, museums and patronage of Victorian England.
Assessment:
Written work which may comprise class papers, essays, visual tests or take-home examinations totalling about 6,000 words.
