Objectives:
In addition to the above, students completing this subject should:
- have a working knowledge of the technical, stylistic and iconographical conventions and innovations of the period.
- be familiar with the particular scholarly debates in the field.
- have an understanding of the various public and private functions of art in the period.
- have developed critical and analytical skills appropriate to the study of the art of the period.
Content:
Exploration of a range of traditional and alternative approaches to late 13th and 14th century Italian art.
Assessment:
Written work which may comprise class papers, essays, visual tests or take-home examinations totalling about 5,000 words.
