Objectives:
In addition to the above, students completing this subject should:
- have an understanding of key issues in artistic and critical practice in the art of the 1980s and early 1990s.
- have the ability to locate specific artistic and critical practices within a social, historical and theoretical context.
- have the ability to conduct independent research using catalogued sources and bibliographical indexes.
Content:
The development of varieties of Postmodernism in the visual arts, graphic design and architecture of the 1980s and 1990s in Australia and abroad.
Assessment:
Written work which may comprise class papers, essays, visual tests or take-home examinations totalling about 5,000 words.
