Objectives:
Students completing this subject should, in addition to the above:
- have a broad understanding of the styles, techniques, and history of painting and sculpture in Italy, France and Spain in the period 1600-1750.
- have developed a critical understanding of the basic principles of constructing the history of art in this period.
Content:
Painting (and some sculpture) in Italy, Spain and France 1580-1750.
Assessment:
Written work which may comprise class papers, essays, visual tests or take-home examinations totalling about 5,000 words.
