Objectives:
In addition to the above, students completing this subject should:
- have an understanding of the contexts in which the art of the period was produced, including the role of patronage and ritual.
- have a broad understanding of the technical and stylistic achievements of the major practitioners of the Italian Quattrocento.
- have developed critical and analytical skills appropriate to the study of the art of this period.
Content:
The history, theory and practice of art in 15th century Italy.
Assessment:
Written work which may comprise class papers, essays, visual tests or take-home examinations totalling about 5,000 words.
