Objectives:
Students who complete this subject successfully will:
- understand the generic principles underlying their writing in different modes;
- have written exercises weekly in accordance with diverse generic or formal prescriptions;
- be able to respond to detailed criticism, edit, re-shape and re-write;
- produce folios which demonstrate both the imaginative range and the capacity for sustained development in their writing.
Content:
This subject is a study of writing in terms of its practice and poetics. Students will be asked both to write creatively and to engage with theoretical and technical discourses on writing.
Assessment:
Written work of not more than 6,000 words.
