Objectives:

Students on completion of the subject should have acquired a knowledge of the development of Corinth as a major Greek polis and the role it played in Greek history, and also have an understanding of the use of archaeology in reconstructing the history of this city.

Content:

The history of Corinth from the Bronze Age to 146 BC, with special attention to the importance of archaeological evidence.

Assessment:

3,000 words of written work (50 per cent) and a 2-hour examination (50 per cent).
