Objectives:
Students on completion of the subject should have acquired an understanding of the elements of the grammar, syntax and vocabulary of Ancient Greek and have attained reading skills sufficient to begin reading literary texts.
Content:
The elements of Ancient Greek; reading simple texts; translation exercises; introduction to Greek culture.
Assessment:
Regular exercises and class tests (30 per cent) and a 2-hour examination (70 per cent).
