705-483 Environmental Information and Monitoring

Content:

The collection and processing of environmental and geographic information: remote sensing techniques and media; data base management systems; computer mapping and geographic information systems (GIS). Applications to pollution monitoring, terrain analysis, land capability assessment, land use planning resource management, selection of plant materials, environmental impact assessment, development monitoring, design documentation.

Assessment:

Four to six written and practical assignments equivalent to not more than 5,000 words.
