702-333 Issues in Public and Environmental Art

Credit points: 12.5

Coordinator: Dr Angela Hass.

Prerequisite: Normally, at least one one-semester subject in architectural history or art history.

Contact: Up to three hours of lectures, seminars and tutorials per week throughout one semester.

Objectives:

On completion of this program students should have developed an understanding of the literature, issues, and practices in public and environmental art, and have developed basic research skills in the subject area.

Content:

Public art and its relationship with architecture and urban and landscape design. The functions public and environmental art assumes in contemporary societies.

Assessment:

Project work and reports up to the equivalent of 7,500 words. Details, including the weighting of assessment, will be made available within the first two weeks of the semester.
