16.7 Organisational Behaviour. Second semester. Twelve 3-hour lecture/seminars. On completion of this subject students should be able to:

• understand concepts associated with personnel management;
• apply basic skills associated with sound practice in personnel management; and
• compare educational institutions with other types of organisations.

History and development of personnel management; policy development; staff selection and induction; staff development; performance appraisal. A minor assignment of 1,500 words (30 per cent); a major assignment of 3,000 words (70 per cent).
