Not offered in 1996. 16.7 Instructional Design and Educational Media. Class contact time will be conducted mainly out of class on students' prepared projects. On completion of this subject students should be able to:

• understand the development of educational television, computers and other media;
• understand television studio production techniques and other media production techniques;
• apply practical skills in television studio production and computer-assisted instruction or other media production techniques; and
• demonstrate a critical attitude to television, computers and other media as instructional media in education.

A pilot study involving the selection of an appropriate instructional medium research on the effectiveness of that medium and the production, trialling and evaluation of an instructional program. An assignment of 1,500 words (50 per cent); a project (50 per cent).
