Dr David Dickson Entry into the Honours Program in Actuarial Studies Double semester At the end of this subject a student should be able to:

• initiate and undertake a small actuarial research project;
• give a good written presentation of research findings;
• present a clear mathematical argument (where appropriate).

The research essay of at most 10,000 words will be on a topic approved by the Head of Department. The research essay is examined. It must be submitted by the end of the second semester.
