<CONTENT>This subject surveys recent developments in feminist theory and feminist methodoogy, including the concepts of gender, class, and ethnicity; debates between liberal, socialist and radical feminists; and the contributions of postcolonial feminists and queer theorists and considers techniques of textual analysis, analysis of visual materials, feminist criticism, interviewing, and archival research.
<OBJECTIVES>Students who complete this subject should be able to:-
<p>understand debates around recent feminist theory and methodology and apply this understanding to specific problems involved in undertaking feminist research in social sciences and humanities.</p>
<p>Students should also develop skills in presenting the results of their research effectively in spoken and written form.</p>
<ASSESSMENT>Written assignments to a total of 6,000 words.
