16.7 3rd year Associate Professor J S Martin. Beginners Swedish Third Year A (126-321). Second semester Five classes a week, including an hour in the language laboratory. At the conclusion of the subject the students should:

• be able to communicate in spoken and written Swedish within the compass of a minimum vocabulary of 2,000 words;
• have an appropriate command of the Swedish language within interpersonal and informational domains;
• have a basic understanding of formal and colloquial registers of Swedish within a contextual setting;
• have achieved the level of language competency required for admittance into Intermediate Swedish Third Year A (126-323).
