<OBJECTIVES>Students by the end of the subject should be able to:
<ul>
<li>Have a basic understanding of Polish, especially in contrast to Russian;
<li>Be able to read any Polish texts with the help of a dictionary;
<li>Be able to pronounce Polish reasonably well;
<li>Be in a position to continue independently learning to use Polish at all levels.
</ul>
<CONTENT>A contrastive linguistic study of Russian and Polish. Theory and practice, the latter mainly in reading. Serves as an introduction to practical Polish.
<ASSESSMENT>By regular assignments totalling no more than 5,000 words (3rd year), 6,000 words (4th year)
