<OBJECTIVES>By the end of the subject, students should:

<li>be familiar with the main techniques for analysing an unknown language, working from scratch with a native speaker;
<li>be able to apply these techniques in consultation sessions with an actual speaker;
<li>develop their skills in identifying and describing the linguistic characteristics of different languages, through detailed work on one language.
