<OBJECTIVES>Students who complete this subject should have a sound grounding in the fundamentals of the language and will have consolidated aural, oral and reading comprehension skills.
<CONTENT>There are four separate classes each week: Grammar, Conversation, Reading and Writing. Topics cover everyday situations. One-hundred characters will be introduced.
<ASSESSMENT>Assignments and quizzes totalling not more than 2,500 words in written work; one 2-hour written examination; one oral/aural perception test (maximum 30 minutes).
