<li><b>Objectives:</b> Students who complete this subject should be able to:
<li>understand a variety of approaches to the study of Indonesia;
<li>be prepared for research in the field of Indonesian studies.
</ul>
<CONTENT>A multidisciplinary introduction to the geography and peoples of the Indonesian archipelago designed for students of Indonesian language. The subject will draw on history, anthropology, geography, linguistics and Indonesian literature in translation.
<ASSESSMENT>Written work not exceeding 5,000 words.
