<OBJECTIVES>By the end of the semester the student should understand: the origins of anti-semitism; the impact of law codes relating to Jews; the motivation for anti-Jewish actions; the activities and contributions of Jews in this period.
<CONTENT>Relations between Christians and Jews in Western Europe and the Holy Land during the medieval period.
<ASSESSMENT>Class participation and contribution (10%), research essay 2,500 words (45%), reflective essay or seen exam at option of student 2,500 words (45%).
