• have acquired a good working knowledge of the stylistic and iconographic developments of the era;
• have a broad knowledge of the documentation of major lost projects and of other relevant literary material;
• be aware of major scholarly contributions to the field and be able to appreciate the practical and methodological foundations on which they rest;
• have gained research and writing skills appropriate to the study of the art of the period.

Style, Iconography and Function in Christian Art from the Catacombs to Iconoclasm. Written work which may comprise class papers, essays, visual tests or take-home examinations totalling 6,000 words.
