<OBJECTIVES>In addition to the above, students completing this subject should:

<li>have a sound knowledge and understanding of different aspects of artistic production in Northern Europe during the sixteenth century.
</ul>
<CONTENT>Northern Europe and the Italian Renaissance; the Reformation and Art; the Habsburg patronage; and the art of Bosch, Breughel and Durer; witchcraft, sexuality and the arts.
<ASSESSMENT>Written work which may comprise class papers, essays, visual tests or take-home examinations totalling about 5,000 words.
