Approval to do this subject must be obtained from the Head of Department. 16.7 3rd year (First or Second semester) In addition to the above, students completing this subject should:

• have developed a capacity to independently investigate a subject area related to one of the other subjects in which the student is enrolled.

A special study based on one of the other single-semester subjects in which the student is enrolled. (First or second semester. ) A 5000-word essay, to be written concurrently with the relevant semester subject.
