• have gained an insight into the operations and practices of a criminal justice agency;
• have acquired some understanding of the political processes underlying the work of the agency;
• have developed some skills in policy analysis and applied research;
• have learned to present the research findings orally and in writing to practitioners and criminal justice professionals.

A research placement in a criminal justice agency. Up to 5,000 words of written work at 3rd year level and 6,000 words at 4th year level. Assessment may also include an oral presentation to the agency and/or student peers of the major findings of the project.
