Students on completion of the subject should be able to analyse and evaluate a range of evidence relating to Ancient Greek language, culture and society (varying according to the level of Ancient Greek attempted) and have adequate preparation for conducting independent research. The subject is composed of two elements: (i) One of Beginners' Ancient Greek B; Intermediate Ancient Greek B; Intermediate Ancient Greek D; Advanced Ancient Greek B; Advanced Ancient Greek D (50%). (ii) An advanced topic on Greek Literature and Society involving an introduction to research techniques in Classical Studies (50%). Written work, tests and examinations totalling no more than 6,000 words.
