<OBJECTIVES>Students on completion of the subject should have acquired an understanding of the main features of ancient historical writing, from a careful reading of the main Ancient Greek and Roman writers of history.
<CONTENT>The major historians of classical antiquity, studied as literary figures.
<ASSESSMENT>3,000 words of written work (50 per cent) and a 2-hour examination (50 per cent).
