<OBJECTIVES>Students on completion of this subject should be able to: recognise the main classical mythological narratives, their principal themes and cultural significance and understand some of the major scholarly approaches to the subject matter treated in the subject.
<CONTENT>Classical myths in (especially) Greek, but also Roman culture, with particular reference to their currency in literature and in the material remains.
<ASSESSMENT>Written work of 2,000 words (50 per cent) and a 2-hour examination (50 per cent)
