16.7 4th year Dr D Kane. Chinese Translation Project. Second semester Two lectures and one tutorial per week. By the end of the subject students should have

• acquired the ability to research Chinese texts;
• gained familiarity with academic writing in a particular field;
• acquired the ability to write an academic paper on a topic introduced in one of the subjects taken at 2nd/3rd year level (Chinese Linguistics or Chinese Literature), using Chinese texts.

A research project set by the supervisor on a topic covered in the pass major, using Chinese texts. Written work not exceeding 6,000 words.
