<CONTACT>Six hours per week: one lecture, four language classes, and one multi-media class.
<OBJECTIVES>By the conclusion of this subject students should be able to speak with an acceptable standard accent; they will be able to write approximately 400 Chinese characters and conduct conversation on a limited number of everyday topics.
<CONTENT>Spoken and written Chinese for students who have completed Chinese 1A.
<ASSESSMENT>One aural/oral examination (1 hour); one written examination (1 hour); classwork to a maximum of 3,000 words. Students will be required to attend a minimum of 70% of all classes in order to be eligible to take the examinations.
