Students on completion of this subject should have a developed reading knowledge of Classical Hebrew, and a general knowledge of the grammar of the Semitic languages. A reading course in Classical Hebrew literary texts and inscriptions. The focus of this subject is on detailed linguistic analysis and interpretation of selected texts from a wide range of literatures. 2nd and 3rd year

3,000 words of written work (50 per cent) and three hours of class tests during the semester (50 per cent).

4th year

Written work, tests and examinations totalling no more than 6,000 words.
