INTERMEDIATE SEMITICS A 16.7 2nd, 3rd and 4th year Dr R G Jenkins 150-142/242/342/442 Beginners' Hebrew B. First semester Three hours a week. Students on completion of this subject should have a reading knowledge of Classical Hebrew, and a broad knowledge of the place of Classical Hebrew within the Semitic language family. A reading course in Classical Hebrew literary texts and inscriptions, with an introduction to Hebrew as a classical Semitic language. 2nd and 3rd year

3,000 words of written work (50 per cent) and three hours of class tests during the semester (50 per cent).

4th year

Written work, tests and examinations totalling no more than 6,000 words.
