<CONTACT>Three hours a week.
<OBJECTIVES>Students on completion of this subject should have a reading knowledge of Classical Hebrew, and a broad knowledge of the place of Classical Hebrew within the Semitic language family.
<CONTENT>A reading course in Classical Hebrew literary texts and inscriptions, with an introduction to Hebrew as a classical Semitic language.
<ASSESSMENT>2nd and 3rd year
<p>3,000 words of written work (50 per cent) and three hours of class tests during the semester (50 per cent).</p>
<ASSESSMENT>4th year
<p>Written work, tests and examinations totalling no more than 6,000 words.</p>
