<OBJECTIVES>On completion of this subject students should be able to demonstrate that they have developed an understanding of the communication skills required in the disciplinary fields of planning, design, and building; and be able to demonstrate basic competency in a range of these skills, including: oral, written, graphical, and computing techniques.
<CONTENT>Students will undertake a series of assignments (including computer and studio-based exercises) to develop communication skills concurrent with communication-based assignments in Introduction to Design and Building Technology 1A.
<ASSESSMENT>Assessment will be based on a review of a portfolio of all assignments set during the semester. (Projects, studio tests, exercises, and tutorial presentations, to the equivalent of 7,500 words. ) Assignments may relate to work being undertaken in other subjects.
