Interpretation
- In this regulation
School’ means the School of Melbourne University Private.
Establishment of the School
- Melbourne University Private is hereby established as a school of the University directly responsible to the Board.
Objectives
- The objectives of the School are to provide award courses to meet the needs of institutional clients, including courses in the following areas –
Applied Language Studies
Art Authentication
Clinical Research
Commercialisation
Criminological Research and Evaluation
English as an International Language
Enterprise Programs
Freight Systems and Logistics International Development
Public Infrastructure
Scientific Leadership
Surgical Anatomy
Waterways Management
Women’s Health
Board of management - composition
- The board of management of the School comprises the Academic Senate of Melbourne University Private.
Functions of the board of management
- Subject to the statutes and to any regulation of Council, the board of management must;
- have such powers as are necessary to fulfil the objectives of the School;advise the director, the Board, and Council on matters relating to the School; and
- take steps to maintain close relationships between the School and its institutional clients.
Director of the School
- (1) The Provost of Melbourne University Private is the director of the School.
(2) By virtue of the appointment, the director of the School holds office as head of the School.
Duties of the director
- The director of the School must –
- be responsible to Council through the Board for the management of academic matters connected with any award course; and
- be responsible to Council, through the board of management, for the management of the other activities of the School in accordance with the statutes and regulations.
Deputy director
- (1) The Executive Dean of the Melbourne University Private School of Enterprise is the deputy director of the School.
(2) By virtue of the appointment, the deputy director holds office as deputy head of the School.
(3) The deputy director acts as head of the School when the director of the School is absent or unable to act.
Staff
- After consultation with the Board and subject to the statutes and regulations, Council may appoint such teaching and research officers to the School as it considers appropriate.
