R6.26 - THE JAMES CUMING PRIZE
Recitals-
- James Cuming of Melbourne presented to the University the sum of
£1,000 for the purpose of founding a prize in Agricultural Chemistry.
- The sum of £1,000 increased to $2,921 at 31 December 1994. The amount
of the fund is $3,700 as at 8 June 2001.
It is provided as follows-
- The sum of $3,700 and any accumulations and additions to the sum
forms a fund called the 'James Cuming Prize' ('the fund') and the
fund must be paid into an investment pool and remain there until
Council directs otherwise.
- The James Cuming Prize is awarded annually by Council on the recommendation of the dean of the faculty of Land and Food Resources
to the student achieving the highest mark in the subject Biochemistry
and Molecular Biology Parts A & B in the course for the degree of
bachelor of Agriculture.
- The value of the prize is the net annual income of the fund.
