Establishment of the faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences research committee

1. A standing committee is hereby established of the faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences ("the faculty") to be called the faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences research committee ("the committee").

Composition of the committee

2. (1) The committee comprises
   1. the dean of the faculty;
   2. the deputy dean of the faculty;
   3. the associate deans of the faculty;
   4. six elected members of the academic staff of the faculty; and
   5. any other persons appointed under sub-section (2).

(2) The faculty may appoint in each year up to two additional members whom it considers necessary to ensure an expert recommendation as between the several researches proposed.

Committee to recommend research

3. The committee must recommend to the faculty the research upon which the committee considers available funds should be expended.

Procedure at meetings

4. Statute 1.3 applies to the conduct of meetings by the committee except that no question is to be decided at any meeting of the committee unless five or more members are present.

Funds available for research

5. For the purpose of this regulation the funds available for research are the funds specified for this purpose by resolution of the Council and any other funds allocated from time to time by the Council.
