Resolution taken to have been passed pursuant to Section 14 of the Melbourne University Act 1958

Melbourne University Student Union Incorporated (MUSUI)

For the purposes of meeting its statutory obligations under the Tertiary Education Act and overriding duty to ensure that student amenities and services monies are applied for the benefit of students, Council resolves to:

1. Authorize the Acting Vice-Chancellor to issue on or before Friday, 12 September 2003, a letter in accordance with the terms set out at Attachment B to the Senior Vice-Principal's memorandum to Council members of 9 September 2003, subject to settling with Corrs, giving a Notice to Remedy Breaches pursuant to the 2003 Funding Agreement between the University and MUSUI;
   
   
2. Note that the issue of this letter is a possible prelude to a termination of the Funding Agreement; and
   
   
3. Note that a special meeting of Council is to be held at 5.00pm on Monday, 29 September 2003, to consider any response from MUSUI before determining what ensuing action should be taken.
